Professional Ethics

Adherence to professional ethics promotes a culture of trust, professionalism and mutual respect in the workplace, ultimately contributing to the personal growth and overall success of individuals and organizations.

Terms

The term “mentor” or “mentors” in this text refers to both leaves, men and women who practice the profession of mentoring. Otherwise all terms should be listed, such as:
  1. “guide” (a male coach)
  2. “coach” (a female coach)
  3. “mentors” (men coaches)
  4. “women coaches”

Sufficiency

Coaches will maintain high standards of competence in their work.

Integrity

Coaches will represent themselves in an honest and fair manner, being aware of their particular abilities and limitations.

Coaches try to be aware of their own belief systems, values, needs and limitations and how these affect their work. To the extent practicable, they will act to clarify to stakeholders the roles they perform and operate properly in accordance with those roles.

Non-discrimination

ANLPC prohibits discrimination in all of its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political opinion, sexual orientation, and marital status.

Discrimination, as defined by the ANLPC, occurs when an individual or group of people is treated less favorably than another individual or group, or denied the opportunity to participate freely and fully in the activities of the IAC, because of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex , marital status, disability, religion or political beliefs, sexual preferences, or any other significant characteristic.

Professional Liability

Coaches will maintain standards of ethical behavior that are well expressed both in the behavior of the specific coach, as well as in the profession as a whole.

Respect for Dignity and Human Rights

Coaches will treat clients with dignity and respect, recognizing cultural differences, and the client’s rights to autonomy, privacy and confidentiality.

Coaches provide the required respect for the fundamental rights, dignity and worth of all people.

The rights of individuals to privacy, confidentiality, self-determination and autonomy are respected, taking into account that legal and other obligations may lead to inconsistency and conflict with the exercise of these rights.

Coaches are aware of cultural, individual, and role differences, including those due to age, gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, language, and socioeconomic status.

Coaches strive to eliminate the influence of biases based on these factors on their work, and do not knowingly participate in or tolerate unfair discriminatory practices.
